Dear friends, here we go:

After some time of organizing, buying, waiting, watching and writing we’re proud to present the first international blog-transcending, bollywood related campaign, starting today, Saturday 30th:

connecting each other directly and via this post.

Hopefully, Mr. Sanjay Jha, the director of the movie we write about, will honour this campaign with his presence discussing our point-of-views, the things we cheer about or we chant about.

  9. Filmiholic says:

Michael, thanks for this initiative; it’s been fun.

One question I’d love to as Sanjay Jha is to tell us what the opening Friday was like for him, and does he remember what other films were opening that day, and how he spent the day.

  10. Totally Basmatic says:

I’m the procrastinator of the group, clearly!

Anyway, my post is finally up (in my defense, it’s still Sept. 30 here!).

  11. jhaji says:

I have always wanted to make an Oscar style speech. This is it.

Thank you Michael for considering my request to review my film and to initiate this event and make it successful. I am honored and feeling very special. This is a unique event of its own kind in Blogging , and this first effort and initiative of yours in ‘Bolly-blogging’ has opened a new chapter in Bollywood film reviews.

Ten international reviews from such prolific avid bloggers can be a dream chapter in any film’s biography, and a huge learning experience for a debut director like me.
Oh I have to read them all again and again and again…

This event is going to be with me for a long time, and I will never forget the joy and honour I have received from it, it’s like being in an international film festival.

Thank you Beth, Babasko, Filmiholic, Kaddele, Marco, Maria, Mirie, Oliver, and Totally basmatic.

I will respond to all the film reviews individually, and try and answer all the questions asked to me.
I am going to share this joy with all my cast and crew of the film, it’s a special event equally for everyone.
On this special occasion I would like to take permission from all the participants to publish their reviews with due respect and reference on ‘PRAAN JAYE PAR SHAAN NA JAYE’ blog.

[Oh…I can hear Oscar award winning background score music from music-pit ]

    Thank you all and cheers,
    Happy blogging
    jhaji.

  12. Filmiholic says:

Jhaji, ek doosra question, please: what process did you go through to get hold of Sushmita Sen, Raveena Tandon and Namrata Shirodkar to act in your film? Did you have connections and know them already? Was it it difficult to convince them to act in a debut film?

    thanks!

  13. jhaji says:

    nameste filmiholic,
have got lots to share with you,and i am trying to get back to each reviews individually, and it will be wonderful if my individual review’s response can be connected to this blog site,i am sure michael will find a way.
i am going through all the reviews and enjoying them so much, sorry to be slow…
would like to answer your ‘doosra question’first-and its very important question you have asked…
i belong to an ‘outsider’camp, and i was given my debut break by an ‘outsider’.i have no ‘connection’in bollywood,i am among new generation director, who was lucky to get noticed by self-made new generation director-mahesh.v.manjrekar,and his sheer belief in my passion of cinema, got me this film.he was instrumental in getting this project lined up for me,surprisingly i had never even assisted him.yes, i did go and meet all the actors and convince them about the story i wanted to tell [entire process of my debut film and how did i got through is a mad story and a film in itself] and they were very kind to me,hopefuly they all understood my one line which came from the depth of my heart, which i told to every one, that they can make a difference to my life and change it for good.and yes i am proud of my self,my life has changed,i am a bollywood director today ,and i will never let them down…long way to go though.
    cheers,
    jhaji.

  14. Velu says:

    Michael,
This is indeed one fine enterprise and truly a great experience. A group of bloggers from across the world coming together to review a film - diverse reviews and varied opinions; kudos to this wonderful idea that got realised in an equally wonderful manner!

    :)

  15. Totally Basmatic says:

I think it’s interesting to note that all of the reviewers represent the West - we’re all from either Europe or the US. Maybe next time (there should definitely be a next time!) we should get a larger sample of global bloggers to review together.

  16. michael says:

totally, i’d asked velu also ;) but its a fact that allmost any bollywood related blog is made by non-desis, am i right? but you’re right, there should some following act with more countries representing bollywood fans worldwide (thats what bollywoodbloggers.com is for - different people from different countries with the same addict)

  17. Maja says:

I just went from one blog to another reading all the reviews, this was a fantastic idea, Michael! I love how everyone/most of you agree on some points and have completely differing opinions on other points. I will definitely have to look for this movie and watch it myself, too!

  18. jhaji says:

    nameste michael,
just finished writing and responding to all the reviews individually,it was a huge process for me along with yearly festive season and my pre-production work for the next film project.
thank you once again for such an initiative, and i think the process will continue.i am ready to interact more on specifications to reviews, and i am enjoying doing this, slow though…
lets see how it goes,it was truely an interesting event.
    happy bolly blogging.
    cheers,
    jhaji.
